Sometimes Luck Runs Out On You
sometimes luck runs out on you
no dear john
its just here
then its gone
married to it
then divorced from it
but when luck goes
life alters its course
and then,
it is the, ‘what could have been’
that pillow
that is your dream
sometimes luck runs out on you
it just ups and leaves
just as we believe
and then, sometimes we grieve
for what never was
and perhaps what could have never been
if the truth was apparent
if only it would come clean
are we fated or pre-destined
is it luck?
is it all just a mess?
hoping that it will all come true
sometimes luck runs out on you
just get up and get out
what else can you do?
