Goodbye
no one will know
how i cried over her
and how the love I had
could never be shared
how i kicked and screamed
and rounded on a life so unfair
no one will know
as i sit here today
chased by a sadness
that will not go away
captured by a madness
that has nothing to say
my heart breaks
and my hopes sigh
happiness feels fake
and something of a lie
as fires burn brightly
deep down inside
