Loving Us is Complicated
loving you is complicated
isn’t it always
i just smile
and let you
just be you
if others look surprised
i know how
i feel inside
loving me is complicated
a past
not yet vindicated
a future
in the process of becoming elated
a sense of purpose
so understated
but loving you
is what i do
in the here and now
