Not Even a Fade – Written November 2008 (Aged 33)

Not Even a Fade

every day
i know i am older
every day
i look back –
to days that seem –
so far away
a cheeky smile
and something to say
for a while
that was okay
that was enough
get up, go out
feel rough,
find work,
find a shoulder to cry on
find yourself hurt
every day
i look back –
to those days
they went so quickly
with not even a fade
every day
i know i am older
