My My

how many people –
have i loved in my life
how many,
‘girls’, and, ‘women’
have i loved in my life
my my
so many caught my eye
and so many –
dived right into my emotions
and caused a lovely commotion
but they could not all stay
my my
true connection does not stray

how many people –
have i loved in my life
friends pulled me through
pulled me up
from fertile teenage ground
turned me on
to new and exciting sounds
my my
some did not come along
but i loved them anyway
some of them i still think about
my my
it’s ever changing skies
