Compassion or Creativity – Written Monday 24th January 2022 (Aged 46)

Compassion or Creativity

it was either –
compassion or creativity
one of the two –
that would pull me forwards
and be something to choose
there is no fate
only so many paths
there are no options
with a multitude of tasks
just some obvious ways
that i would walk
childhood and all that experience
left me wanting to talk
and my imagination
left me holding coloured chalk
what else could i do
with no stand out talent
and being the archetypal –
creative jack of all trades
but master of none
my life path was easily made
and in the end,
having stepped out of storms
and gale force winds
when i had put childhood –
in the correct recycling bins
i knew which way it would go
compassion or creativity
would always be the route i would know
