It’s All Lies and Excuses

it’s all lies and excuses
you never tell the truth
you’re a fantasist
your honesty is aloof
always this and that
never getting a straight answer
devoid of fact
one day you will realise
that the truth is close by
and it will leave you surprised
it’s all lies and excuses
you lie about yourself
what people say
when we can come round
the time of day
a straight answer
seems a journey too far
perhaps it’s higher
then again who really knows
the mind of a liar
it’s all lies and excuses
