Peeling Off the Wallpaper

i am peeling off the wallpaper
scraping off the paint
my sepia past
always looks a little faint

i am taking down the lights
undoing those older screws
my sepia past
is old fashioned daily news

i am peeling off the wallpaper
taking down those stairs
my sepia past
has had a multitude of shares

i am taking off the board
trying to repair old plaster
but my sepia past
has disappeared my faster

i am starting to redecorate
add a little paint
but my colourful future
needs a tint, not a taint
