Pulling Down Barriers
you talk of difficulties
learning to be close again
i would like to be close
you talk of the barriers going up
i would like to pull them down
i would like to help you
just to start over again
i want to be a friend
i want to ease the strain
paint you a reflective picture
put in perspective all the pain
i would like to hold you
show you that it’s going to be okay
as naïve as that is
that is how i feel today
you talk and wonder,
will it ever go away
i wonder so much
that i no longer know what to say
let’s keep talking
let’s learn from each other
you take down my barriers
i will take down yours
for your feelings,
i would like to be the carrier
despite all my flaws
