Show Some Compassion
i had done what you have done
i would be mortified
i would be so embarrassed
and i have to admit,
i almost admire your ability not to connect
to drop the jug of milk without regard
and to ignore the mess
and even though it fell from your hands
you look at someone else,
as if they should understand
if i had done what you have done
i would surely want to apologise
i would want to wipe the shame from my eyes
i would want to curl up and die inside
but somehow you feign victimhood
and master pointless surprise
