The Best Advice I Have

just enjoy yourself
patronising advice i know…
and as form of wisdom
at best, it is so so
but please,
just enjoy yourself
enjoy your clever brain
your frame,
your sexuality,
your intelligence,
your skilful impressions
your ability to be so very kind
and make a heartfelt impression
in a world which is so often blind
not everything has to be heavy going
a slog or even a fight
just enjoy yourself
patronising advice i know…
i know that as a form of wisdom
at best, it is so so
but what else can i say
that hard time you give yourself
just isn’t deserving
some of your battles
you need to be you and not always suffering
love you so very much
please stop looking at yourself
and stop making your road so tough
