Male Stereotypes – Written Thursday 6th August 2009 (Aged 34)

Male Stereotypes

on two occasions now,
i have been told,
to, ‘grow some balls’,
i am sorry,
that i cannot hunt or fight
but i do not worry,
about such male stereotypes
i let my ego do the things i need
on two occasions now,
i have been told,
to, ‘grow some balls’,
yet, in my life,
i have fought like an animal
just to get to where i am
i may be soft
but on me, the need to fight
has never been lost
i will scrap like a dog
and fight like a bird of prey
if i feel repressed
and if i need to find a way
on two occasions now,
i have been told,
to, ‘grow some balls’,
well, it is like everything in life
we all look at everybody else
but rather than be concerned with them
we should be concerned,
with just ourselves
i have partaken in too many falls,
and i have picked myself up,
i don’t need to, ‘grow some balls’
