Jump Ship – Written March 2014 (Aged 39)

Jump Ship

some people –
will always jump ship and survive
some people make the marriage work
some inwardly die
some want to be different
but they look the same
in painting all those unicorns
they forgot the mane
i have seen –
the temper homebrewed by parents
it was in a pot,
guilt is a strange governess
it can be the hand that rocks the cot
some people –
will always jump ship and survive

James Garratt – March 2014
