The Summer of Their Heart – Written Monday 17th May 2010 (Aged 35)

The Summer of Their Heart

i saw convex arches –
in the roof of their soul
i saw a backbeat –
in the summer of their heart
i saw windowless frames –
in the past –
that once had no name
i saw answers in the sea
that floored the floor
i saw spurious connotations
and household chores
i saw a lexicon –
dance with the devil
right inside their left eye
i saw a mama and papa
wave such ardent goodbyes
i saw a boxing ring
in a forest of fawn
i saw footsteps patter
from the moment we are born

James Garratt – Monday 17th May 2010
