The Mask – Written Thursday 24th June 2010 (Aged 35)

The Mask

it can be embarrassing
when someone –
appears to remove the mask we wear
revealing what lies beneath
and what we are scared of
or when we are not so sure –
of the life we have created
stir the politics of life
and you are left easily debated
it can be uncomfortable
when insecurities are exposed or shown
a part that always hid
suddenly becomes something well known
after all,
we all try to carefully construct who we are
and more importantly what people see
the problem is you cannot always –
separate your, ‘i and me’
