State of Fear
the last time i was here
i was left in a state of fear
i left through the front door
though,
it may well,
have been through the side
i can look forward to a future
one where i am alive
the last i touched you
i must have been naïve
when you said i could win you back
i never expected you to leave
the changeable scenes of all our lives
as human beings
i am often amazed that we survive
climbing out of the gutter
or onto another ill fated ride
the last time i was here
i was in a state of fear
but doomsday can wait
i feel that everything is becoming clear
