The Road – Written Monday 2nd October 2006 (Aged 31)

The Road

i walked up the road
the one that i had once lived on
i walked down,
with the autumn all around
and a chill in the air
wondering where all the years had gone
and how i had got here
i walked down then up the road
and i thought back
to the life i had once lived
i know the innocence has gone
and perhaps even missed
i walked up the road
every step felt like change
all that change for the last ten years
so much laughter and so many tears
but the foundation of my years
i walked up the road
