Different Endings

i hear certain songs,
certain artists
and i am back there in aberdeen
we are young
and just starting out
the pubs and restaurants we fell into
and all that snow
it all came,
and then it had to go
there is much i would like to say
to the family that never accepted me
but age had mellowed me
and it has forced me to reconcile
it’s nearly an age
since we read from the same page
but we finished out chapters
with such different endings
