Still There
future is bright
it burns through your skylight
on your way, down into town
if you’re passing my house
and you don’t know where to begin
you might as well come in
future is bright
it’s your bonfire burning in the garden
it’s burning right through the night
the future is taking us for a ride
and i need a roller coaster
because i live by the seaside
and we no longer have one
they talked about building the largest
but the work has not begun
they forgot to find space for a carpark
and isn’t that typical of this town council
future is still in the dark
and strange to feel
on your way up give me some luck
i won’t beg, but i want a bit
not too much, just enough
future is climbing
but we’re swaying in the wind
cords are unbinding
and there is a strange trend beginning
