A Well Behaved Person – Written Sunday 12th October 1997 (Aged 22)

A Well Behaved Person

well fed, well kept
when is the last time you slept?
when is the last time you were missed?
what has happened to your personality?
taken over by virtue and rationality
that’s what has stolen it away
saying god has your love and your life
and that its so true
i look at your vacant sight
i reckon he’s got your personality too
where are your flaws
like doors to a real person
you get embarrassed by tales –
of drinking, living and swearing
you cannot understand –
where we’re coming from
i will tell you it’s just called fun
have you ever really ever had some
i know that it seems like a cliché
yet it does not seem that way to me
the fear of god stalks you
that is what they have taught you
and if you are not behaving well
you are going to end up in hell
looking at you and looking at innocence
i will say that you’re there already
