The Book

the one that i first saw in 1996
when i twenty one –

and if i am lucky i will shake off the fiend
that has been haunting me since i was six
that was when i first saw them.
but i know some of these imaginary friends
are just demons on your glen
they can charm like oscar wilde
but strike like big ben
i finally purchased that book –
the one that first saw in 1996
when i knew london like a personal limb
when the days were adventures,
ones that only the sweetest birds could sing

The Book – Written Tuesday 12th March 2002 (Aged 27)

Thank you 🙂 :). I even know what the book was. A bit of a strange one. It’s like two separate unconnected ideas melded together.
