The Car You Are Driving – Written Between Tuesday 15th February 1994 and October 1994 (Aged 18/19)

The Car You Are Driving

they do not want to understand
only ever care about themselves
nothing is explored,
everything is black and white
when there is a world fighting
all you care about is –
the car you are driving
and all the things you own
you will barricade your home
and you will not come out
because you do not want to learn
and you do not know what is is about
all this could be soon –
society is a shallow creator
and the pressures of life
often just a cruel dictator
they will slag off what they can
if it does not fit in –
of if they do not understand
always looking,
but always getting scared
and hiding when it has all gone
all you just care about –
is the car you are driving
and the material things you own
