Painted Walls and Rearranged Furniture – Written Friday 24th August 2013 (Aged 38)

Painted Walls and Rearranged Furniture

i too,
have painted walls
i too,
have rearranged furniture
i too,
have tried to feast on emotions –
well past a sell by date
or even,
emotions that aren’t there at all
or ones,
just unfashionably late
a house,
is the bittersweet metaphor
a life together
should not be governed by law

i too,
have hoped a notion of family
would be notion that would come good
when in reality it sailed away
or it simply never found me
and me,
i was left standing empty at the quay
looking at lonely seas
i too,
have done so many things
and hoped that it would be enough
when often,
it clearly was not
and i fell in to the past of happier days
conveniently, the miserable ones are forgot
