Enjoy The New

another day in a place so suddenly new
i move about
i hold you
this life,
if mum could see me now
what would she say
i know she would want to buy knick-knacks
shortbread and sweets
and she would want a postcard sent back
i did this for you,
to make you proud
to let you know that it is fine
i told you goodbye on that monday
and that we would be okay
and so we are
another drive with scenery-a-plenty
this is where i am now
i know she will guard my feelings
and be a loving sentry
i move about in realms that are so new
the journey has been uphill
but at least now, we can enjoy the view
