Intact
how did i end up more intact –
than the children
loved and often clapped
how did i end up more shipshape
than the children –
not weaned on chaos and occasional hate
how did i end up three quarters sane
unlike the children,
who did not choke on blame
how did i end up just like this
when i was a child,
that rarely appeared to be missed
