Promises, Promises, Promises
they tried to take away my identity
sought to soil who i am
they made like a coward
and refused to understand
they told me of my supposed autism
and my lack of caring hands
they said no one really liked me
and that is why i lack a clan
they nullified my achievements
and tried to impose a ban
they acted with a purposeful dislike
and refused to understand
they tried to wear other peoples shoes
and said those that had ran
were their kindred spirit
and in reality, only they could understand
yet they tried to take away my identity

Promises, Promises, Promises – Written June 2007 (Aged 32)

Wow, such a poignant poem. I do feel this one… deeply. Brilliant, James… so vulnerable & strong at the same time.

Thank you – a lot of these are unfished or sort of finished by no titles. There’s a lot in this one 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
