Facing The Change – Written Thursday 5th September 1996 (Aged 21)

Facing The Change

things are not what they used to be
changed have happened in the night
my eyes cannot always register the change
sometimes the light is just too bright
you made me what i am
and i am partial to your conversation
but i know things have changed
things are not what they used to be
and we are not the same
the innocence has gone
but still we play the game
and i am such a faceless name
wandering around lands of immaturity
just watching times change
and to be true, i am bending under the strain
things are all so very new
i am angry and i am bitter
because i do not know what to do
my mind cannot always accept
exactly what is happening
seems we all sometimes escape the net
i don’t know that much anymore
and all that know is not all that i see
yet, all i know for sure
is that things are not what they used to be
