Another Day
another day –
of the faintly ridiculous
i just don’t believe
cynicism has me as a captive
i was captured when i was quite naïve
all this pain?
why is it allowed to happen
why can’t i exercise some control
must people let their hope go
and let it become covered in mould
it’s all faintly ridiculous
with an air of disillusionment
all this pain?
it’s just a runaway train
and it’s on our tracks
could we stop it?
could we even turn it back?
another day –
of the faintly ridiculous

Another Day – Written Thursday 30th December 2004 (Aged 29)

I think its so amazing that you share poems from so long ago, I would be too shy to share my own! Its very stream of conscious and self-aware, thanks for the share

Thank you. You shouldn’t be shy, I accept that a lot of my writing isn’t that well written, or it doesn’t show me in a very flattering light. It’s hard, it’s taken a lot for me to get to the stage where I am comfortable to share older pieces. The point of writing up and archiving everything was that the whole would be greater than the sum of its parts. So it all represents parts of me and parts of my life :).
