Doubt – Written Monday 15th November 2004 (Aged 29)

Doubt

you doubted me
when there should have been trust
you know,
in a relationship,
that’s the first sign of rust
apology won’t restore the trust
but,
it may just help with the rust
you doubted me
when i had done nothing wrong
and my extreme emotions
clearly embarrassed you
and i saw you turn away
no comforting hug
no word that you wanted to say
watch me now as i retreat
you doubt me and though that is not a crime
as time goes on without an apology
i feel less fine
