I’m A Little Tired – Written Monday 15th November 2004 (Aged 29)

I’m A Little Tired

i’m a little tired
of put downs and digs
you’re a grown adult
is that why you do not fit?

i’m a little rundown
by the constant hit and run
even in the name of love
it feels a little overdone

just keep on picking away
i will be everything you say
as what you fear comes true
because breaking free of chains
is not something you can do

A Problem in a Poor Disguise

we have gone from, ā€˜cool britannia’
to, ā€˜cruel britannia’
from, shake rattle and roll
to sheik rattle and oil
how far have we got to go for peace?
how much do we have to toil?
do we need to dig ourselves a tunnel
it’s hard, because there is blood in the soil
and there is blood across the sand
politicians keep on smiling
but i don’t really understand
war is not the solution
just a problem in a poor disguise
and not matter how much they smile
it won’t hide the truth from their eyes
anger gains support
and collective repulsion begins to swell
in this brave new century
it is time that we stood up and it’s time to tell
