Self
the world of self
it has seeped from the jar
removed itself from the shelf
we watch people –
as they watch people
we endlessly discuss
the knave and the steeple
narcissism rules the roost
but has our dignity –
flown our collective nest?
are we just slaves –
to a lack of self respect
endless points of view
with time on their hands
and nothing else to do
this is our modern age
where we keep on looking
turning endless pages
living through individualism
and a million different phases
