Half Way To Madness
if you are half way to madness
i am afraid,
you’re a fingertip touch away from sadness
if you’re three quarters of the way there
well,
i am afraid,
it must be complete despair
but hold on tight,
and find someone to care
if you are picking up the tab
if you are to in debt,
and struggling with the ground rent
you had better scream and shout
because you need an ear that is easily lent
and when sanity is finally gone
i am afraid,
you will need a shoulder to cry on
or a pack of batteries
so that the torch can keep shining on
i am afraid,
for most of us that has already come and gone
