They Fed You Rejection – Written Tuesday 2nd May 2006 (Aged 31)

They Feb You Rejection

they fed you rejection
what a thing to feed a child
they gave you desert
one of low self esteem
and it was washed down –
with something to stifle dreams
they fed you rejection
which in truth –
meant you felt you had very little to say
at least anything of any worth
so your self confidence was washed away
they fed you rejection
from the moment you were born
and when they left –
your emotions were completely torn
cut as they were,
with the sharpest and cruellest of knives
and because they fed you rejection
you feared it for the rest of your life
emotions now stifled,
deserted and missing in action
facing a firing squad armed with rifles
they fed you rejection
and what a crime to commit
you count the cost,
but then, you should not be paying for it
