The Boy of Young Passions

can i be –
that boy of young passions
just once more?
the one who aimed higher
but so often,
was left upside down
dangling from self made barbed wire
can i be –
that young boy once more
with a playbook of idiosyncratic schemes
and in the end,
lackadaisical dreams
could i write once more?
could i use the same black pen?
or has the ship sailed,
once again
could i talk about love –
without sanity and conscience
could i indulge in youthful push and shove
knowing that it’s practically nonsense
could i be –
that boy of young passions
just once more?
holed up,
in a dream gantry that i once made
with female acrobats ,
who had high-rise games to play
could i write poems,
believing that they were about go out of fashion
could i be that boy,
just once more?
that boy of such young passions
