Emotional Labour
emotional labour –
it finds me
and it finds me –
needing to sleep
i hang tiredness on my wall,
like a painting,
not complaining,
just waiting for the tiredness to lift
emotional labour,
has always been my steer
it encapsulates my effort
and raises a weary cheer
emotional labour –
it finds me
and it finds me –
having to put together a puzzle
where pieces –
do not always fit
and my energy has little life
but bit by bit
i climb like a free falling kite
