Heavy Trees – Written Tuesday 31st October 2023 (Aged 48)

Heavy Trees

heavy trees –
swayed in my world today
and rain lashed my mind
but it was fine,
i am focused,
and never caught in the furrows of time

heavy trees –
were bolted to my forest floor
and today,
i could hold onto every branch
i saw everything,
but i was lashed only by fertile chance

heavy trees –
were planted deep into my lot
options can feel ceramic,
and lost in an endless knot
but those trees –
well, today, they are all i have got
