High Chair
i know –
i am not normal
but,
it’s okay
confidence,
need not be so afraid
and my ideas,
can be freshly made
i know –
people,
who do not value themselves
who,
like to be, ‘off the wall’
and,
back, ‘on the shelf’
i know –
i am not normal
but then,
neither is anyone else
but,
it’s not a badge to wear
more something –
that crawled under the bed with me
when i was small and scared
when good enough
was naked and bare
when parents –
were not sure what emotions to wear
when being low down,
longed for a high chair
i know –
i am not normal
but,
it is okay
because in the end for all of us –
sanity,
does eventually slip away
and i will always ask you,
how do you feel today?
