Noise – Written Wednesday 28th August 2024 (Aged 49)

Noise

You do not have to care –
About the noise around you.
It’s only –
Because social media –
Has turned on the sound,
Which puts your shackles up,
And your ear to the ground.

But the only real difference –
Is the sound.
But you do not have to listen –
To the noise you now hear,
Cages rattled by those in fear,
And those –
Leaning in far too near.

You do not have to care –
About all the noise around you.
Social media is a speaker
In which rationality –
Has become so much weaker.
But you do not have to listen –
To the noise –
Or even the social media sound.
Protect your well-being –
Find the volume, turn it down,
And do not feel so lost.

And if you can –
Just make sure that you turn it off.
You do not have to care –
About the noise around you.
