Laughter Lines
Laughter lines
fall into my life —
living here.
Age,
now,
it’s reaching new heights.
The loss
is dripped
in a decorator’s gloss;
running wild,
facing the final boss.
Laughter lines
add in some telling smoke.
I watch
as the people pull out the pages
every time I find
a new book.
And when
I tell a telling joke —
so come back,
there is something here
that feels like
a fairground of love.
So,
fall, fall in love,
and learn to be that
which feels
most comfortable.
