i do not want to be part of the rat race
i do not want to be part of a crowd
i would rather be flying
i would rather be part of a bird race

the cage door is open
but i am chained to the wall
i cannot find the key
actually… i cannot find the chain

you can cry on my shoulder
because i see that you are still a friend
getting younger or getting older
these days are hard
with edges that feel so sharp

another day
and,
i am overwhelmed by this paradise
the beauty i see in people
that gives me so much hope in life
