mental health –
has always been paramount to me
since i first collapsed
since that car hit me –
and i was told i had to go back

it is strange,
when people reach out to you
well, not strange
more humbling,
the ego defeated
by something greater

all the frustration
is a beautiful child
with eyes aglow
waiting for the love and confidence
needed to grow

you apologised
but continued to blame
which made,
poor old apology redundant
it was last seen signing on
and shivering in the cold

sitting down
staring into my soul
i told her that these last few days
i had really begun to feel the cold

the more we fear falling over
the more we have
the more we fear a break

my sadness
my umbrella
my follower

like mental health
is truly on the line
a friend is helping me
a work colleague sat me down
and set it free
