i should have explained,
but i always hoped,
that we would reach a conclusion
that would allow us to cope

it is strange,
when people reach out to you
well, not strange
more humbling,
the ego defeated
by something greater

all the frustration
is a beautiful child
with eyes aglow
waiting for the love and confidence
needed to grow

you apologised
but continued to blame
which made,
poor old apology redundant
it was last seen signing on
and shivering in the cold
