straight then backwards
and then upside down
these remarks i make
have paved a courtyard
of a place that i know too well

be a husband…
fit into that role, play along
blame others –
when attention is sought elsewhere
when the honeymoon runs out of honey –
and the moon no longer cares

am i worthy of affection
could i just carry on
screwing up my direction
lost in darkest pools
trying to comprehend my life

you open your eyes
and they capture me
they reveal truth
i watch them,
as they offer me shelter
and a tin roof

it retreats, back to bed
to pull up the covers
and we all do it
we all say, it is the others

i knew i would need fixing
a lot of mending
stabalising
and plenty of feeling

i have no aversion
to the green
but i was here
with all my feelings

how can i go on
feeling so lost and sad
how long do i starve myself –
of happiness and a way forward
