i have often found that i am working –
in the department for happiness
it is a position –
i am ill equipped for

it is a life philosophy of cause and effect
that decision
gave you a destination so direct
or is it others

no child misbehaves
and they have to be in bed
before the parents have
finished digging the graves

perhaps self pity
has me in its factory
making umbrellas and raincoats

or genius
not pulling its weight
paying bills
having cake
we are all waiting to be discovered
