You Me and Ourselves

it is the end of the chapter
but i do not want to turn the page
it is time to go somewhere else
i would like to get my coat
but i do not want to leave
it is the best chapter ever wrote
full of heartache and laughter
it is the end of a good evening
no time for the talk to go on
it feels like we have only just arrived
now it is time we were gone
how is it we survived?
it is the end of a really good night out
or perhaps the perfect day in
it is the end of the chapter
when did all this begin?
so full of heartache, so full of laughter
it is so strange, all of this
the end has caught me out
it is stranger than the chapter itself
it contained all of us
you me and ourselves
