Who is Annabella?

you could stay a while
swap the hurt for a smile
you could ring me today
the boat came in
but the friend went away
i drunk all their gin
and was to tired to stay
you could be –
annabella in a dress
swap the hurt for a smile
tidy up all the mess
you could follow me home
out of the respect stay the course
get in late, no time to wait
be special and be really adored
go almost the distance
much more than a mile.
