i have seen flowers in the garden
i have seen them grow
i have seem them whither
under the frost and heavy snow

it is hard to explain
but she leaves something
like a permanent stain

relationships –
between human beings
exposed as fresh air

i never chose –
as a child
the position given –
to me

just a wish
just a kiss
lava flows from the dream
they are welded to the floor

revealing what lies beneath
and what we are scared of
or when we are not so sure –
of the life we have created

are feelings just that,
a myriad of emotions
a jigsaw of many pieces

they have identities
‘a social problem’,
now it is decided who has it and who does not
