The Early Days
do you remember the early days?
do you remember trying things new?
do you remember me?
i remember you
we lived life in naivety
those were the early days
those days are long gone
and in way, so is a certain way,
of having fun
we have fun now,
but it is not the same as the early days
those days of friends,
those days of cheap romance
going to clubs for the first time
and being scared to dance
very conscious of how stupid you looked
now we don’t care,
have a few drinks, wait for the right song
and let down our hair,
which, seems to have grown long
do you remember the early days?
that early fun
those early days were fun
because we were learning,
about everything, ourselves, the world
and soon, a certain boldness is lost
as you become older and aware of things
and then you start to reminisce
about the early days
those magical time, the early days
