I Saw You Come In

i saw you come in
had too much in my head
began to think i had seen the dead
i saw you come in
where had you been?
had you been to where i was last night
living in a dream
do you realise what it means to me
to take away everything
and leave it be
to let all my things go to waste
i saw you standing there
with questionable taste
as i sat and mused about you
you said you were going away
had to get out of here
to remove you from my head
i shed a tear
and held your dreams dear
like a present from the past
in a long ago year
i saw you come in
what left is there to achieve
then i saw you leave
