I Cannot Get Excited About Leaving…

i cannot get excited
about leaving the EU
can you?
another vote
does not quite float my boat
anyway,
it is up shit creek
without a paddle to spare
is anything ever truly fair?
i see people
in the scrum
this modern take on madness
shows the utter failure of our democracy
and our institutions
including those that staff them
and fill up their traditional halls
for too long,
we have repaired and repainted
over these failings
with colours
from a range called heritage and tradition
it does not matter
if it does not work or even cause us harm
that is how,
we have always done these things
and we’re meant to be an island to be proud of?
